May 16, 2025 an F3 tornado tore through our city, many many people came together as a unit to assist those that were effected. It’s been three months since this devastation took place there is still so many families that are in need. One Silverstar Community Food Outreach collaborated with Wherever We Are Inc, whose mission is dedicated to assisting in repairing, replenishing, and recasting the lives of our society’s most vulnerable. They are intentional about alleviating the discouraging statistics framing the lives of black boys. We helped to assist with providing food to the tornado victims that resides in a food dessert area helping over 25 families. As a result 85 people did not have to endure food insecurities an abundance of fresh fruits and vegetables was provided. This is what community looks like.
