One Silverstar Community Food Outreach fundraiser Food insecurity is a serious issue, and the lack of access to nutritious food in “food desert” neighborhoods disproportionately impacts disadvantaged families and their children’s development. One Silverstar combats food insecurity and strengthens community ties through partnerships with other nonprofits. In addition, we’re tackling food waste by distributing good and wholesome food to food desert communities.
